Wellness Massage

Gudjon Bergmann offers two types of wellness massages. The classic Swedish Wellness Massage is perfect for relaxation and relieving overall tension. Firm pressure and flowing movements ease muscle tension and improve blood circulation. The Mindful Body Mobilization is a clothed treatment that Gudjon developed by combining various massage techniques. Its goal is to mobilize joints, muscles, fascia, and nerves. Clients often report feeling energetic, relaxed, and centered afterward.

FAQ's About Wellness Massage

Please reach Gudjon Bergmann (LMT, MMP) at contactmindfulhands@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Follow these seven steps to get the most out of your massage and co-create your experience.

  1. Arrive Early: Give yourself a few moments to transition into relaxation mode. Arriving 10-15 minutes early allows you to settle in, breathe deeply, and mentally prepare for your treatment.
  2. Disconnect: Once you’re in the treatment room, silence your phone and leave the outside world behind. This dedicated time for self-care is an opportunity to tune into your body and mind.
  3. Breathe: Exhaling as pressure is applied can help your muscles relax more fully. This simple technique can significantly amplify the benefits of the massage.
  4. Communicate: Your massage therapist is there to serve you. Don’t hesitate to communicate your preferences, whether it’s more or less pressure, a specific area of focus, or any other requests.
  5. Emotional Release: Massage can sometimes trigger emotional responses. This is a normal part of the healing process. Allow yourself to feel these emotions without judgment, and trust that they will pass.
  6. Rise Slowly: As your massage concludes, take a few moments to reconnect with your body. Gentle movements, deep breaths, and stretches can help integrate the relaxation and prevent any sudden tension.
  7. Savor: After your massage, continue to nurture your well-being. Drink plenty of water, engage in gentle activities, and prioritize relaxation throughout the day.

Wellness massages help maintain the lymphatic system, calm the nervous system, increase blood flow, and reduce muscle tension. For optimal results, book a wellness massage once a month.

Swedish massage encompasses the fundamental techniques that most modern massage therapists utilize. In some contexts, it has come to be associated with "gentle" massage. However, this is not necessarily accurate. In fact, deep tissue massage primarily incorporates Swedish techniques. If you prefer firmer pressure but do not want to schedule a deep tissue session, please communicate your preferences to Gudjon. He will apply the appropriate pressure that suits your needs best.

Gudjon Bergmann developed Mindful Body Mobilization, a fully clothed approach that incorporates various techniques such as Swedish massage, Shiatsu, acupressure, myofascial therapy, stretching, joint mobilization, and percussion. The main goal of this practice is to mobilize muscles, fascia, joints, and nerves, helping the body achieve a state of balanced relaxation and rejuvenation.

Wear comfortable and stretchy clothes, similar to ones you would wear to a yoga class.

"Absolutely the best massage I’ve ever had, hands down. It was over too soon."
